You know the boxer, but how well do you know his legendary trainer?
In the upcoming 2016 American biographical sport film directed and written by Jonathan Jakubowicz, Hands of Stone chronicles the life of one of boxing’s most interesting and iconic boxers to date, Roberto Durán. Making his professional debut at the young of 16 in 1968, his 33 year career is arguably the best (next to Muhammad Ali), followers of the sport have ever seen. While the film will is based on Durán’s career, the focus will be more-so on his legendary trainer Ray Arcel played by Robert De Niro and his milestone fight against Sugar Ray Leonard (Usher Raymond) which took place in June 1980.
The film is scheduled to be released on August 26, 2016.
