Pendleton Westerly Sweater

Mother Nature doesn’t care about how you feel, what mood you’re in or the fact that you might even be hoping for a sunny day. And when it comes to the Winter season, she definitely isn’t listening. More often than not, the best way to get along with her is to come to some sort of compromise — you adjust you seasonal garments accordingly — which happens to be the only compromise. If staying stylish this Winter is on your “To Do” list, then we suggest getting prepared, and we mean like right now.

There’s several options out there but for the most part, layering up with knits is going to be key. One brand that has been around for ages and has the history behind it to make sure you’re ready for whatever Mother Nature throws your way is Pendleton. From the mills where they produce their iconic fabrics, to the end resulting garments that hit store shelves, Pendleton makes sure you can stay warm during the brutal Winter months. And, one of their most beloved items is back, the Westerly Sweater.

Originally produced in 1974 for Pendleton’s High Grade Westerner line, the Westerly sweater was inspired by the hand-knit Cowichan sweaters of the Pacific Northwest tribes. In 1998 it became a sought-after classic after being worn by Jeff Daniels as “The Dude” in the Coen Brothers’ The Big Lebowski. Pendleton’s updated version still uses heavyweight lambswool in a similar iconic pattern and now includes a commemorative bowling pin key ring.

Buy it now at Danner’s online shop | $239(USD).
