In keeping with Nixon’s brand ethos of doing the never-been-done, the Nixon for Barneys C39 leather features an original dial application made of NewspaperWood
The creation of Dutch designer Mieke Meijer, NewspaperWood reverses the traditional production process of wood to paper form and creates a unique, one-of-a-kind design. The end result is part of an upcycle process that returns newspapers back into the natural wood state. Made with non-toxic materials, recycled papers are glued together and then rolled into log form. When a NewspaperWood log is cut, the layers of paper appear like wood grain, or growth rings of a tree, giving the dial found on the C39 a unique aesthetic.
The Nixon for Barneys C39 leather features a Swiss Made 3 hand quartz, 6 o’clock seconds subdial with blue hand, brushed gunmetal case and bezel, a quick release steel buckle and Horween leather band and retails for $350 USD. Limited to 100 pieces, the timepiece also features a custom engraved caseback notating the exclusivity of the partnership.
