Last night saw the premiere screening of GMC’s “The Sharp American,” a short film directed by Arnaud Boutin and starring designer Michael Bastian, photographer Michael Avedon and bespoke musical score by musician Twin Shadow. The film explores each artist’s articulation of precision, attention to detail and craftsmanship across fashion, music and photography. Celebs including Rose McGowan and Johnny Galecki came out to the posh event at the Gramercy Park Hotel to support. The screening and private dinner followed Michael Bastian’s 11am fashion show of his Spring/ Summer 16 collection during New York Fashion Week: Men’s. The film was inspired by GMC’s recent Precision advertising campaign, a trilogy of ads that included a cameo from Bastian in the third installment entitled ‘Sharp,’ exploring the parallels between impeccable dressing and the precise features in a GMC Yukon Denali.
