The Best Ferrari Ever Built?

Superb Performance & Effortless Driving For Maximum Drop-Top Fun

That vintage drop-top you put $100,000 in to restore to its original form is downright luxury at its finest, but please, don’t ever sit it next to this, the outcome won’t be pretty. Covered in Blu Corsa livery, the all new Ferrari 488 Spider is a spitting image of what a super fast drop-top sports car should look like. A full 55 Lbs. lighter, the mid-rear-engined soft-top is the most high-performance and technologically-advanced Ferrari spider ever built by Maranello.

Powered by a 3902 cc turbo-charged V8 which made its original debut just a few months ago on the 488 GTB, it delivers increasing levels of power right across the rev range, and completely eliminating the traditional turbo lag with a throttle response time of just 0.8 seconds. Designed around the retractable hard top concept, the 488 Spider has a spaceframe chassis made of 11 different aluminum alloys combined with other noble metals, such as magnesium, each one used in a highly specific way.

As for the drop-top itself, the RHT folds backwards very smoothly in two overlapping sections to rest flush on the engine, making it much more compact, and it takes just 14 seconds for the top to fully retract or deploy.
