Cocktails are like small hidden gems, and when you finally come across one that permanently shatters all those you’ve had before it, its best to keep it a secret, unless of course your local bartender already knows about it. Cocktail connoisseurs looking for their new favorite drink or a special look inside the world of America’s top bartenders and mixologists can find both at the Hubbard Inn in Chicago’s River North neighborhood. For one week, the Hubbard Inn will be serving the JBF Bramble, a cocktail created specifically to be served at the James Beard Foundation Awards gala tonight and enjoyed by the nominees. Made with BACARDÍ Gran Reserva Maestro de Ron, a super-premium mixing rum, lemon juice, simple syrup and topped with a sweet blackberry purée, the JBF Bramble is equally satisfying for anyone simply looking for a delicious and refreshing springtime cocktail.

JBF Bramble
2 parts BACARDÍ Gran Reserva Maestro de Ron
¾ parts lemon juice
¾ parts simple syrup
¾ parts of blackberry purée
Method: Shake all ingredients vigorously with plenty ice, strain into a highball glass then pack it with crushed ice and drizzle blackberry purée on top. Garnish with a blackberry skewer and basil leaf.
