A short time ago, we stumbled across a truly inspiring craftsman by the name of Clarke Titus, owner of Rough South Home and based in Atlanta Georgia. The first time around we featured one of his works, the Locker Light which got quite the response and rightfully so. Simply put, Titus is a genius at what he does, fusing together ideas that go beyond the realm of normality.

From the beginning, it was clear that he likes to work with wood, a natural material that’s had its fair share of the spotlight around here. The most amazing part is how he intertwines woodworking with metal, as well as home decor. Utilizing reclaimed wood such as Oak, Titus’ body of work is comprised of building standard dinning room tables, to more unique pieces which draw inspiration from vintage aesthetics. One of his latest builds is a Warehouse Light that has been modified in a couple different areas.

He gutted the giant ballast so you can use normal light bulbs, modified the top plate, added a porcelain socket, 18/2 gold lamp cord, and 25 feet of salvaged rope, as well as a plug  on the end. Another item that caught our attention was the Ambrosia Maple Floating Shelves. Each features French cleat construction with a frame wrapped in Ambrosia Maple, a soft maple that is infested by beetles that bore small holes in the surface and create tiger stripe-like trails. Below are even more intriguing builds that are available.
