Coming off a recent collaboration with Sebago, today we bring you a look at the Levi’s Workwear by Filson Autumn/Winter 2011 collection. With each brand worth their weight in gold, they are without a doubt two of our most coveted labels, always providing classic styles combined with innovated techniques.

The miners, loggers, cowboys and mariners that pioneered the American frontier demanded clothing that was as tough as they were. Whether they built, explored, or just followed the gold, men of every trade relied on outfitters that sold quality goods, made strong for the work of the day. Two brands in particular, the Levi’s® brand, launched in 1873, and the Filson® brand, founded in 1897 by Clinton C. Filson, were especially renowned for their quality, reliability, and honest values.

This collection of collaboratively designed products marries the traditions and technologies of the Levi’s® and Filson® brands, tried and true for over 100 years. Manufacturing durable outdoor clothing with only the finest and toughest materials–oiled tin cloth, rugged twill, bridle leather and riveted denim–is a difficult task. It’s a craft that Levi Strauss & Co. pioneered in the 1870s and that C. C. Filson Co. has mastered over the last century. In this tradition, and to guarantee the very best quality, the products in this collection were meticulously handcrafted by skilled workers in C. C. Filson’s factory in Seattle, Washington.

Highlights from the range include the Levi’s Trucker Jacket featuring brushed moleskin at the collar and cuffs, buttons at the front, cuffs, and adjustable side tabs. Another standout piece in our book is the 505, Levi’s zip-fly version of the button-fly 501 handcrafted of Filson tin cloth to protect against rain, wind, and brush. It comes in a straight fit and carries Filson’s lifetime guarantee. The collection is now available in limited quantities in select Levi’s and Filson stores, and online at Filson.com and Levi.com.
